Here at GoLaunchE, your data is encrypted even before it leaves the computers, using encryption keys and algorithms defined by the client, ensuring the total confidentiality of your information. They are automatically transferred from your computers and servers to our data centers over the Internet using a secure communication channel (https/SSL).

Retention is the time when you need files that have been deleted or modified on your server to remain available in the cloud for restoration. Let's assume that you have 10 files on your server and perform the backup. After performing the backup, you will have 10 files on your server (original) and 10 files in the cloud (backup). On a given day you want to permanently delete 03 files from your server, as they are unwanted files, and perform the backup again. When the backup is performed, the cloud will understand that you deleted 03 unwanted files from your server, however, the cloud will keep these unwanted files still available for restoration for the retention time you have configured, that is, the retention can be understood as a “Virtual trash bin in the cloud”.
The compression rate depends a lot on the type of file. Video files, images, and files already compressed (.zip, .tgz) can practically not be compressed, whereas text files, spreadsheets, virtual machines, databases, and documents, in general, are compressed by up to 80%, that is, in one scenario where you have a 100GB database, you would theoretically use just 20GB of space to store this data in a cloud backup format.
Versioning is a feature that maintains multiple versions of a file for later restoration. Imagine that you have a spreadsheet that is changed daily on your server and that it is backed up every day. On a certain day, someone asks you to restore the backup of this spreadsheet, however, the applicant does not want the most current spreadsheet, but this spreadsheet of how it was 7 days ago. As you perform a daily backup of this spreadsheet, you will have the option to redeem the version of the day you want, depending on the retention time you set.
For security reasons, backup data cannot be accessed directly in the cloud, as the data is stored in encrypted form. To have access to the data, it must first be restored for later access. The restoration in turn is only possible through authentication through login/password in addition to the insertion of the encryption key.
