In this post, I am going to explain how to duplicate a page in WordPress or a post. It is something that can be useful if you are going to create a multi-language website. Since you would have to create the same pages/posts for each language and doing it from scratch can take a long time. However, if you duplicate them you would only have to replace one text with another. How to duplicate a page in WordPress: What to copy
We will assume you have installed the Duplicate Post plugin. You can easy install it from plugins section.
Most of the options and the most important are in this first tab.
In this tab, you can establish which elements of the page or posts you want to copy. Of the options, there are I would highlight the date and status.
Check the date box if you want the copies of the posts or pages to have the same publication date. This option is especially important when it comes to cloning posts. Although this depends on the use that you are going to give to the plugin.
The other interesting option is the status option, by default the copies are created with the draft status. This seems logical to me since the idea is to modify the content of the copy and there is no plan for it to appear as directly published.
The rest of the options do not have much mystery.
You can set a suffix and / or a prefix although it is not mandatory. To better distinguish the copies, I do recommend adding something like “Copy of:” or something like that.
You can also exclude custom fields or taxonomies.
In general, the default configuration seems to be the most correct for most cases. However, it is something that depends on the use that you are going to give to the plugin.
It is quite clear what options you will find in this tab.
Here you just have to mark who has permission to use this plugin and what type of elements will have the option to clone.
This tab is not important.
It simply allows you to hide the clone buttons on certain parts of the web. Moreover, this is the entire configuration that this plugin has.
How to duplicate a page in WordPress?
